  • Bring Your Own Book (BYOB)

    A book group with a difference; each month members bring a book they have enjoyed and talk briefly about why they liked it. Someone else in the group can borrow it and return at the next meeting or pass it on. Contact will be via WhatsApp. Read more

  • Jane Austen

    This is a group where members read Jane Austen books slowly, discussing chapters, storylines etc as they read each book.   • Crime Fiction II

    Due to the popularity of the original Crime Fiction Group we have started an additional group; this one meets in a local café that has disabled access. Read more

    This is a life writing and discussion group. Read more

  • Reading Fiction III

    This group meets monthly, allowing members time to read and digest the book which will have been chosen by the group. There is opportunity for debate on the likes and dislikes of particular aspects of the book, and everyone is encouraged to participate. Read more

  • Reading Fiction IV

    Our Reading Fiction groups are very popular. This group meets monthly in members’ homes, with the members taking turns to host the meetings as far as possible and choosing a book to be read and discussed. Read more

    This group meets on the last Friday of each month in a local coffee shop to discuss a novel from a list chosen by members of the group Read more

  • Play Reading

     Members decide on which plays to read and hold meetings mainly in their own homes. They enjoyed a Christmas meal together in December 2024 Read more

    This group meets monthly on a Tuesday, allowing time to read and digest the chosen book before discussion. At the beginning of the year the group chooses a selection of suggested books by each member and then everyone votes for their preferences.     This group meets monthly. Members take turns to choose a different book each month and hold the meeting in their homes, if appropriate. The choice of books read and discussed ranges from Booker prize winners to less well know writers, both from the UK and beyond.   Read more
