One of the oldest purpose-built cinemas in the UK, still providing the service it was constructed to do, is right here in Brighton. We have organised a private tour of the Duke of York's cinema, Preston Road, Brighton, BN1 4NA, for Monday 17th November at 10.30am. It will be led by Sam Harris from Picturehouse Cinemas, an expert on the building’s history. This will be a private tour of the site for about 90 minutes, including small group visits to the projection room.
Members should have received a Booking Form, circulated by our Educational Visits Co-ordinator on 12th October. Bookings will open at the Monthly Meeting on Wednesday 29th October. There will be a maximum of 15 for the tour, but if demand is high we could organise a second visit.
