Pickleball was invented in 1965 and combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong. It can be played as singles or doubles, inside or outdoors, on a court similar to badminton but with a modified tennis net. It’s played with a solid racquet, also known as a paddle, and a perforated plastic ball.
This group plays at Portslade Sports Centre on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 1pm to 3pm. A few members have played before and most members have played other racquet sports. They are gradually getting to grips with the rules and the scoring system.
